Just offering out advice for anyone wanting to switch from Windows to Linux, Ive found a fairly easy and painless to install version. Mint Linux. Its a Ubuntu based distro and has all the usability of Ubuntu. But works stright away. Things like Java and codecs are installed from the start so there is no messing around trying to play Mp3s or movies. The whole install only took a few min too. http://www.linuxmint.com/ If your just using your pc to browse the net and watch movies its ideal - even my missus can use it ! (She likes all the pretty effects)
