As you all know, having a Sega CD can be a pain because of the expense of the RAM cart for it. I don't even know if this is technically possible, but is there any way through a firmware update for the EverDrive to also act like a SegaCD save/RAM cart? I would imagine you can thus save way more games to the EverDrive than you'd be able to with the official SegaCD RAM cart. Just a thought. It would make the EverDrive even more completely awesome! :flamethrower:
This was mentioned here: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31397 (about half way down) If it could backup saves from the MegaCD to the cart, then to the SD, that would be great.
<EDIT> Doh! Beaten by 8bitplus... I already mentioned the idea to KRIKzz a while ago :- Everdrive-MD does not have more RAM than official Sega 'CD Backup RAM Cart', but it also would not rely on a battery power to keep save files like official cart, and also you could probably backup save files to SD card for practically infinite storage space
You need a special rom that would once you insert card could communicate form cart to seg cd console and vice versa. I think this can be done in future.
