Well I've had plenty of full size arcade machines in the past, my very first was my favorite game of all Galaga, man what a great game. Anyway with the 360 being hacked, even though the mame thats released is out dated, there will inevitably be a newer version to come out, so I got to thinking about how easy it would be to put a 360 into an arcade cabinet. I've built multicades before but never wired up a 360 controller to arcade buttons, I looked at a pcb and well it seems really easy the points are nice and big wouldn't take too much to do. I think it would be really sweet looking, I might just make an arcade controller out of a spare wireless controller that I have since that would be easy and could be completed in less then a day. I've already got buttons, and some joysticks that I've had left over when when I used to mess with them all the time. Has anybody else thought about this, or have any of you guys made an arcade controller. As for the Xbox it would be set up to auto boot mame, or maybe the game room, the console it's self does have alot of fun arcade games anyway, but I think mame would be better for the auto boot, then you could just navagate to where ever you wanted to go too. What do you all think. Either way I plan to have a controller at least started this weekend. Hawk
Super easy to to considering the system outputs VGA by default. I would wire up two controllers to the cab by default and then leave two wireless controllers synced up and inside the cab door on standby. Most of your games are going to be 2P only, but in case you want to fire up some 4P action you can always just yank out the extra two wireless units and go to town. -hl718
