So in this video Max from Destructiod mentions that back int he day THQ were working on various versions of an Akira game, is there any info around on this? I wonder if this is something that might have been recovered from THQ's closed offices.
We have discussed this subject many times here but I would recommend this article in particular: http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/akira/jimgregory.htm It has been said that a French journalist had a proto of this game. It wasn't too hard too guess who this journalist could be but when I finally contacted him 1 year ago, he told me he lost it and he didn't seem very inclined to talk about it.

I'm the one quoted on that article you linked to (damn, that forum post was 12 years ago...), that information about an Akira prototype in a french journalist's hands came from someone i was in contact with on irc in like 1998/1999 : http://www.emu-celebs.consollection.com/index.php?rub=7&idPerso=80 , unless of course he was bullshiting me at the time, but i doubt that.
