I have been trying to create this thread for years but never got a chance to get around all the items to take nice pics and post them. I used to have a larger collection but due to moving, college funds for kids, home projects...etc, I have sold quite a bit of stuff. Before the collection get any more downsized, I think I should post them here to share with everyone. A majority of my collection is PlayStation related, so my apology if it's not up to one's taste. Some of the stuff might not even in my collection by the time the pics are posted. Enough talking. Enjoy!

Wow, great collection! I have a quick question about the plastic wrap that you're using on some of the console boxes. Are you using oversized poly bags or is it something else? They sure look good and I bet they provide great protection against shelf wear.

I honestly don't know what kind of plastic wrap it is. I left them at my parents' house and my mom picked each of them out and wrapped them for me. She used to work at a gift shop so she has a bunch of wrapping material and she love wrapping during her free time.

Like cling film? I know that can sweat. Hopefully it's safe anyway.

I don't think it's cling film. It's more like the plastic wrapping that people usually use to wrap chocolate (mostly during Valentine). Thanks for bringing the acid issue up. I'll text her tmr morning to see if the wrapping is acid free.

It sounds like your talking about polypropylene, but you should definitely check with your mom. Polypropylene is common in the food service industry because it's inert and considered foodsafe. It's also supposed to be excellent for archival, which is the reason I asked you about it. I have been thinking about using poly bags or something similar myself and wondered where you got poly sized to fit your console boxes. It sounds like your mom is wrapping the console boxes like gifts, which is probably why it the plastic looks so perfectly sized. Anyway, thanks very much for responding to my question. Your collection looks pristine.

Oh right, if that's the case what's the actual plastic called? I wouldn't mind getting some to wrap some boxes myself.

I texted her today and she told me it was cellophane (polypropylene) wrap. The one she used on mine is acid-free and also food grade (FDA approved). I did some googling on prices and look like they are quite cheap. They are definitely good investment to protect nice items in your collection

Thanks very much for confirming with your Mom. I have been thinking about using the same type of material to protect my boxed consoles for a while now. Now that I see how great your collection looks am sold on it. Thanks for the information and for the great pictures of your collection.
