...and that would most likely be a used/on location machine as well.

Yeah, for newer games expect to pay hella money for full cab. Can probably build a "cab" based around the PS3 version for a fraction of the price.

2?? The screens themselves would be worth more than that.

yup i guess all those superflat and big screens are the things that cost the most when producing machines like these. 8k is a good price i guess, but then again thats a lot of money..

Go to an auction, probably $3000 per unit.

It's probabaly $7995 per side of the double, so $15,000 for a double.

I can't see it being $8000 for a double unit.

i was thinking 2 grand because when i saw it in person it didnt seem THAT impressive, but maybe thats because it had alot of wear and tear on it.the game is fun but not worth that much money for the original arcade experience.

are you serious? a Rambo shooter?? :eek:h: that'd be awesome if it was just you sitting on a .50 cal blastin' Burmese soldiers left and right. if it's half as gory as the film it should be pretty sweet.

PC's have been used in alot of arcade games for a few years now. The new afterburner game used it. I haven't seen a rush of PC versions though. This is partly because they tend to run on Linux, so you'd have to port it to Windows anyway.

The most important reason is that all the games are only fun because of the cabinets. Not many people have their PC connected up to a big screen either.

Maybe in a few years things will change, but I can't see it happening in the ps3/xbox360 timeframe.

The games that do run on windows have generally been cracked and some of them will run on generic pc hardware. Others are more picky about the sound and graphics card you have. DirectX makes it easy ( whether you want to or not ) write software that only runs on certain configurations, which is the reason why console games are more popular with developers.

Well first off you have to find somebody that has the game that is willing to dump it, and then you are going to have to crack the security that is on it.
