That game caught my attention from the beginning of the ps2's life. What the Hell is this game? i mean, i heard (and readed) from alot of source that it could be played on ps2 (yeah), PC or on a normal DVD player! Kinda strange, isn't it? Anyway, is this game worth 5 bucks? (never played or heard about the arcade version) is this uncomon or something? Any excuse for a collector and gamer to try and buy this game?Could it be a future game to search for in the next year or something? or should i just forgot about it? Anyway, Thx. Cahaz
It's not a PS2 game at all...it's a DVD player game. It's controlled using the menu selection buttons on a DVD player. So it works with PCs, PS2, and A DVD player. They're never much of a game though. If you've ever played Dragon's Lair, you have a pretty good idea of what this game will be like. Pretty, but not much gameplay.
well, there's the ps2 logo in a big black Line at the top of the image, just like any other ps2 game 0_o
Basically, it's a DVD player version of the classic arcade laserdisc game Time Traveler. The game loses a lot on the leap to the TV, as the original arcade machine used a pseudo-3D display (basically, a 2D image that was reflected onto a display panel.)
At best it's a loosely interactive videofile, less gameplay than most shockwave games as a basic comparison.
i wonder if you could make a 'Road Avenger' style game like that... im guessing the response time would be an issue... would be cool with real video though. :0)
I have Dragons Lair 2 on the same label, I play it on my DVD players direction buttons, its fantastic if you like this type of stuff. I want them all, Time Traveller included. They do versions of Mad Dog Mcree/Drug wars etc, on PC you can use the act labs usb gun wooo.
Yeah, I have it. It's pretty cool. I like it better than Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. Yeah, it's not holographic, but it comes with 3-D glasses! The 3-D setting is lame, though, so I always played it 2-D. The other game in this series that I'd like to get is Shadoan, which is slightly more RPG-like than the others. I'd like to see how that comes out. ...word is bondage...
I remember that one on the arcade. It was a really atractive game, but you'd get killed in no time. It was, frankly, frustrating, impressive as it was. I'd still get it for 5 dollars, at least for nostalgia's sake. I bet it hasn't aged well, and probably deserves it. Stupid frustrating expensive game.... /traumatised at the arcade.
