To All Assembler Members Hi, Please do not let my afore mentioned drunkenness make what I am about to say anyless meaningful to you. I have been visiting the Assembler Boards for months now. I have a job I hate [I am a manager for a linens (and things) retailer]. And I don't really have any friends where I live (as I left all of my friends behind in So Cal when I moved to No Cal to be with a girl who I thought was the one, but who has since dumped me). I feel good about my life in spite of the unhappiness that my job and my recent break up have given me. I just wanted to let you all know how much the Assembler boards has meant to me. This place has been much like a Fortress of Solitude to me, though one with a bunch of friends that I have mostly not spoken to directly. It may sound weird, but that is how I feel about this place. It is a place that I have learned much from, that I know that I will learn even more from, and which I try everyday to contribute to in as positive a way as I can, even though I do not know as much about game development as most of you. I think of many of you as friends, even though we have never spoken directly. I hope that doesn't sound to weird to you all, but that is how I feel. You are all very real people to me and this place means a lot to me. As I said before, I try my best to contribute in a meaningful and intelligent way, and I hope I have not been annoying to anyone here. I just wanted to let all of you know how much you and the Assembler Boards means to me. Thank you for being here. And thank you very much to Assembler for starting such a place where people can have such intelligent and kind (in most respects) discussions about such amazing and wonderful things as rare and obscure video games. I really hope that one day I can become one of the esteemed members of the board with the knowledge, respect, and comradery that you fine people have. Samael Sorry that your woman did that. Women are evil (god love them) but it is there nature to be like cats. Women don't want a weak man but women also don't like a meat head. Key to it is be confident in who you are. If you like video games don't play it down be proud of it if she doesn't like Fuck her if you like cars and she doesn't like her fuck her. Seriously, I am a computer guy (suprise) and i sleep eat and shit computer games and hardware. I used to lie about being a gaming nerd but when i was with her i never got to play any games but went to alot of shopping malls. But now i don't lie about it i am what i am and my new woman excepts it she bought me a psp, a sega 32x and many xbox games. But there is one thing my father told me and i will always remember what he said at 68 years old. "Son Women are shit there alot of them you can always find more. Love is Shit it was invented to control men. Sure you can say you love them cause words are cheap a real man doesn't have to say he is in love he just has to take care of his shit and when a woman see's that she will want to be with him." Yeh, just be yourself, be comfortable with yourself. When you're looking for that someone that will be comfortable with you and vice versa, it will be a painful journey but pain lets you know you're still alive. Just don't let that sort of thing keep you down.
I'm glad you're enjoying your stay. As for your love life, well... "It'll happen when it happens." I can't speak from experience, as I'm not really interested in any girls down here. As madhatter said - it's a painful journey, but you'll be stronger for it.
