How does everyone feel about this, or has anyone played it? I can imagine this being difficult to play on touchscreen but it says it can be played with iOS controllers which should make it more playable! Also good news for people that have not played the 'Gold' or 'Unfinished Business' as these are included for the first time on a device which is not a PC! Looking at the screenshots the graphics look really clear and looks untouched from the original which is great in my eyes as its already a perfect game! for the price of £0.69 or $0.69 all I can say is bargain!
for $0.69, can you really complain, even if it is bad? I beat the game back when it was new though. I don't feel the need to buy it again, even if it is just for the extra content not on the ps1 disc... I really wonder who buys this more: people who already beat the game 10 times in the mid 90s, or kids born in the mid 90s who want to see how this franchise started...
I just picked it up. I'll be trying this out later tonight. Oh the memories of playing on the pc. Anybody remember the mods like nude raider?
This is hugely disappointing for me because it has no Save crystal (like PS1) and it allows you to save anywhere, it just ruining the challenging and fun experience by not having limited saved crystal. Crystal Dynamics should have put optional mode in main menu for save system (big mistake Dynamics) The controls wasn't exactly perfect but the texture was rather nice, love the skulls carving out from the walls. Hoping Tomb Raider 1 comes to android since my smartphone has a bigger screen and better performance than latest iphone. However this is not really spectacular since already came to Nokia N-gage phone back in 2003 Some of you may better off playing Tomb Raider 1 on PSP since it has the decent controls layout buttons which is makes it easier and better experience. Neverless, I rather play Tomb Raider 1 on Iphone than playing that awful Tomb Raider Anniversary at anyday I would rate this 5 out of 10 - because lacking of limited saved crystal which makes this game far too easy to play. Tomb raider 1 supposed to be challenging and yet Crystal Dynamics kills that most critical fun part. I'm quarter through the game and I don't think I would bother continue to finish it at this stage.
Tomb Raider on pc 1 did not use save crystals... And if your worried about it being too easy, don't save the game ;-)
Like I said, it should be optional, this is why I perfer PS1 version. Neverless I had done completing levels without saving in the past. It called TR speedrunners.
Well sometime, I won't always do Speed runners but still.. I rather want a Saved Crystal involved. Also there a lot glitches in this IOS port according to Tomb Raider forums members. Even Tomb Raider 2, 4 and 5 on PS1 allowed to save anywhere. Edit blue crystal is nice to look at
Because it their responsible to release this port, they manage redo the texture pack but no saved crystal? That should be optional for those who wants a challenging game. Core Design is long gone.
A game that was bad when played with an actual controller, but you have to attempt to control it with a damn touch screen? Great idea.
Well, I liked original controls in TR1-TR5. Strict, but understanding them you could do very interesting things.
Thanks Cap! Crystal Dynamics did only new AAA Tomb Raider games. For this port project Square Enix probably hired some smaller external studio.
The controls were perfect, you probably not good at it. Core Design, controls and gameplay engine is still the best in my opinion.
