Hello all. I recently picked up a Tomy Pyuuta Jr. (thanks Eric) and need some suggestions for games to target for this system. Can you assist in some recommendations and/or avenues to purchase games for this system? Thanks in advance! Terry
Any Tomy Tutor game should work on this system. I believe there is no region lockout, so even US version Tutor games should work. Unfortunately, the only places I have ever seen Tutor games is Yahoo.JP auctions or Ebay.
http://www.game-nostalgia.net/pyuta/pyuta.html Has a page of all the Pyuuta games released, there aren't that many. Superbikes is a fun game in the spirit of BMX Burner, GattanGotton (aka Locomotion) is a fun game, apart from that a lot look like MSX like games. Konami made a number of games for the system. There is also a Tron game on it too.
Gamesreview - the link is to pictures of the games. The stand alone console is pictured at the top right of the page. Thanks for the feedback all. I kind of knew that searching for games for this system would not be an easy venture.
The console icons are pretty cool. A Daewoo Zemmix (any version) one would be a nice addition to whomever has the talent to create these.
I've never even heard of this thing before. But yeah....looks like the game selection is about as good as the atari lynx ..... no wait I take that back nothing has as bad of a selection as the lynx
Oh stop being negative, the Lynx does have some great games. California Games is fantastic and I say that the best version in on the Lynx, Chips Challenge is a fantastic puzzle game, APB, Rampart, Rygar, Slime World, Klax are all great games too. Every machine has at least one great game.
Word up, the Lynx has a lot of fun titles. I agree on California Games (spent hours trying to improve my BMX time), Rampart, Klax, and there's Joust and Roadblasters. Alright, so a ton of the 70 or so titles for Lynx suck, but I definitely can play it a lot more than my Tutor library. Demon's Gate and Eye of the Beholder are prototype titles that are a bit of fun too. Coming right up, I defend the Atari Jaguar and Channel F. Collecting Tutor is certainly not for gamers. Most of the versions are shoddy adaptations on hardware very similar to TI-99 and Colecovision. You can definitely get waay better versions of games on those systems. What Tutor (and therefore Pyuuta) has going for it are a few good arcade titles and several weird titles. Pooyan, Scramble, Frogger, Jungler and Mr. Do! are available for the system. I haven't played enough of the unique titles to tell you if there's even one worth returning to. There are several that are quite obscure and difficult to track down. And there is an expansion unit for the '3D' games which are not 3D in terms of SMS 3D or Vectrex 3D, just 3D polygons. Note that Japanese release Tron is the same exact game as US release Hyperspace, except with the better name.
Wario for VB is amazing. How can you dispute true 3d? VB just had a poorly received display, but take for what it is, it was brilliant.
Thanks for everyone's help on this topic. I posted a thread in the Marketplace WTB forum - maybe I'll get lucky
this one trips you out though because, like in this one level, there are giant spike balls hanging and swinging from backgrond to foreround and it's trippy when they come at your face!
