Hi there, i have a big problem. My TOOL boots no more.. it bootet up 3 times.. but then an error occured... It tells me anything about I/O Errors end_request I/O error, dev 03:07, sector 196622 hda: read_intr: status=0x59 { DRIVEREADY SeekComplete Data Request Error } ....... { UncorrectalbeError } And the last line: /dev/hda7: ENEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY: RUN fsck MANUALLY Then i can give my root password to come into the bash to run fsck or i can put CTRL+D to reboot.. when i run manually fsck there a a huge list of errors in /dev/hda7 What can i do now?!? Regards Bjoern
hmm as is sayed.. when i run fsck manually a lot of errors occurs... and i dont know if i should say yes or no when the systems ask me to do anything... Is it possible in any way to reinstall the Linux on the TOOL?
Bjoern, it sounds like the system was turned off incorrectly, or that it is simply moody... My primary drive experienced the inability to be read about 200mb in when i was doing the initial backup- one of Mugi's drives which had never been booted (the secondary drive connected to the PS2 board) refuses to boot on is stock image until fsck is run on hda... The drives are old, and well.. stuff happens- I'd advise you to simply answer yes to all the fsck questions- this worked perfectly for Mugi's drive, and probably will for you as well. On another topic, have you backed up the drives via dd yet just for safekeeping IF the system goes down?
Hi defor, thanks for the answer.. so i make then an fsck /dev/hda7 manually and answer all with yes. And no.. i have no back up made.. because my tools runs today the first time.. and it only boots 3 times.. after that the error occurs. eventually you can tell me how i can make a backup? So OK.. i will make a manually run with fsck and post here when its done...
So i finished now the manually fsck run... i always answered with "yes" The TOOL Buts up now and Games are running fine. But at the startup the system is missing 2 files... under Network-Config... also many files where not found.. UMTPs Files?!? Also the WebInterface from the TOOL is not running?!
so when i try to start httpd ./httpd start the following error occurs: AddrMarkNotFound.... this comes about 3 times after that: EXT2-fs Error ext2_read_inode unable to read inode block fopen input/output error Ou man.. i think the whole filesystem is bust..... As i say the tool works... but no WebInterface many File Not Found errors on Start-Up
is it possible to restore a backup from another tool ? also i think you should make a backup RIGHT NOW anyway there are errors !!!
we're working on that at the moment and yes, tools cn run images from other systems just fine- I contributed my images to him as he has a HJ 233MHz w/30gb drives (more or less the same as my H)
