    Hi all,

Can anybody help me log into my TOOL from the Linux side of things?

I have tried username: root and password: root and various other combinations but I can't get in.

Does anyone have any ideas what else I could try?

Cheers UJ although it doesn't work. It says password incorrect. Can I do this via telnet?

SSH or Telnet is not installed by default, booting in single user mode should work just fine.

    LILO: boot single
once at a prompt type: passwd root
    choose a password
    and reboot, thats it.

so when it asks for my login I type "boot single" and then when it asks for password I type "passwd root".
Then I type in say "tool" as my new password, then I reboot via http:// web interface?

P.S thanks for the help I'll give it a go.

At the lilo prompt, before linux boots, when you press Tab, you should see:
    tool linux
    type: tool single
    then at the bash #
    type: passwd root
you will have to enter your new password twice
after that, reboot with ctrl alt del
    It can't be that hard!

    TAB? What's tab for???

I haven't booted up this tool with a monitor yet and the last time I did this was over 2 years ago - I don't recall pressing tab during the boot up bit....what's that for?

    sorry for being a numpty.

you will have to connect the tool to a vga monitor to do this, when connected you will first see your bios displaying the CPU/mem/harddisk info and such as a normal pc does, a few seconds after before linux boots up you will see the words LILO: here you quickly type 'boot single'
after that follow the instructions already given in above comments ;)
then after you reboot/shutdown and start again you should be able to login.
