http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBT5bbtUhGE&eurl= I have no idea who created this, but it looks like it's from some professional video. Here's a list of what games they are counting down as well... I know I'm missing a few. 10. Takeshi no Chousenjou (Takeshi's Challenge) [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takeshi_no_Chousenjou ] 9. Jikuu Yuuden Debias + Lupin Sansei Pandora no Isan + Side Pocket 8. Kiki KaiKai (I still have no idea about this game I can't find any records of it) 7. Rinku no Bōken (Legend of Zelda 2) - Disk System 6. Super Mario Brothers 2/Legend of Zelda - Disk System 5. Famicom Cup Volleyball 4. La Salle Ishii no Child's Quest - I have no freakin idea about this game. I got the name from someone that posted that they knew it, don't ask. Here are some "Nostalgia commercials" I've listed them as I can decipher them. - Gyromite/Stack-Up/R.O.B. commercial - Space invaders and 3 other games I can't figure out....Weirdest commercial of the entire video. - Dragon Quest 1 (It's hard to believe they had to make a law against this game series because of a commercial like this) 3. Ganbare Goemon 2 2. Famicom Wars and Number 1...Famicom Golf US Course Edition + Ad for Famicom challenge with Golden Punch-out as first prize. EDIT: I found some of the games via the website that LuckyToke posted. I think the list is somewhat complete except the Space Invader's video. Anyone know?
Fantastic. Sorry if this is old, but I stumbled on this site sometime last year. There are commercials from all over the world for 48 platforms! http://gameads.gamepressure.com/
Gyromite, Space Invaders (4 Taito games), and Dragon Quest are introduced as nostalgic commercials. Ganbare Goemon 2 is third in the overall ranking.
Kikikaikai is a fantastic game that was released on the Famicom, PC Engine and updates for the Super Famicom including a new Kikikaikai 2. The SFC versions were by Natsume who are basically just Taito. It was released in the states under the dumb name of Pocky & Rocky Yakumo
I thought Natsume was mostly former Konami members. Anyway, that's the story that I remember reading way back when Shadow of the Ninja came out on the NES. I'm sure that Natsume is an independent developer that has had its work self-published, or published at one time by Milton Bradley, Taito, Tecmo, and others.
Reading the descriptions for Takeshi's Challenge. The Penn and Teller Sega CD game sounds like a cake walk.
nah they are Taito, I'm sure. Everyone of their games released in Japan are Taito games. Even the end credits have Taito members names in them. It's possible that they are a small company made from Konami and work closely with Taito but I can't really see that. Then again, Natsume's games are way better than Taito's own labled games on the SFC. Wild Guns, Kikikaikai 1 & 2, Ninja warriors again and so on. Yakumo
They are seperate. Wikipedia Entry. Even if that's all bullshit (facts seem to line up to me), they have their own Japanese website, as well as their own US website. I doubt all those games are Taito games. Also, they seem to be completely unscathed by & unmentioned during the Squenix/Taito merger, have their own CEO, subdivisons, etc. etc. The upcoming PS2 game is indeed not done by Natsume or Taito, but by StarFish. Official Website
Looks like Natsume just bought a load of Taito licenses then or Taito asked them to port their games to the SFC pretty much like how Ving did many Taito arcade games for the Saturn, Water Boys, Elevator Action Returns, Metal Black etc.. Yakumo
Yeah, that's the one. I don't know the title in English apart from hearing someone call it Water Boys. Not too sure why though. Yakumo
Nice video, but I don't get why Golf got the first place?? In my opinion, Doctor Mario is the true winner!! Anyone saw the advert? Its one of the craziest I ever saw.. ps: found it on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGdByjKRnos
He must've had the gay porn film "Water Boys" on his mind. DISCLAIMER: I have no clue if that movie exists.
