Well I play with a good friend of mine to get the highest score in co-ops, Which generally involves cheap distraction tactics + lots of grabs for items etc. This works best in Espgaluda, where it is really easy to mess up someone's chain,

    1. Espgaluda
    2. Ibara (luck really who gets the highest score here - at it is rock hard)
    3. Dodonpachi (really easy to fluff up someone elses chain)
    4. GG itsuka (when you actually co-op productively)
    5. Maybe itadaki street (where you need to co-op to stand a chance against sephiroth)

    From your list, Metal Slug.

However, my personal favorit is Perfect Dark.

You guys are going to hate me for this, but the only console co-op games that stand out for me are Halo and Halo 2.

The PC is a different story entirely...

Edit: On second thought, I always thought Gunstar Heroes was fun with another person.

    Edit 2: I meant Gunstar :(.

NES - Contra, DC - Giga Wing 2, DC - Ikaruga, DC - Gunbird 2, PSX - Tales of Destiny 2 (if you have someone to share with continuously), SNES - FF6 (Ditto)
If not, then put PSX - Raystorm and PSX - Gradius Gaiden on the list.

At least those are my favourites.

Edit: DAMMIT, I forgot Shadow of the Ninja! That one rocks so much!

Maybe Im confusing that with MP, since you could play in story levels. I never played many games in 2 player, though.

I've always wanted to play System Shock 2 co-op, but I don't have a computer that will run it :(. Maybe I'll get my old Compaq up and running one of these days.

Do these even count? With Cave's complex scoring systems... 1 Player has always seemed to be the way to go.
