    'Afternoon,

As I'm trying to get as much cash as possible for my upcoming trip to Japan, I'm planning on selling a part of my collection, mainly the things that are collecting dust in the shed. One of the things I came across today is this:

It's a music keyboard for the MSX (I think it works with all MSXs but I've only tried it with my Toshiba HX-10, which I will also sell), model number HX-MU901.
There's not terribly much info on it on the web, but from what I gathered it was released in Japan and in Europe, albeit in (very) limited quantity.
I have not been able to find any price though, anyone have a clue what a reasonable price would be for this baby?

(btw - if this belongs in the trade board, lemme know and I'll move it)

Take it to Japan and sell it to a MSX/oldschool comp store, there are some in Akihabara,I think they might give you a good price if you don't act too dumb and speak some japanese ;-)

well, that's a pretty good idea, but the thing weighs a ton, I wont take it with me on the plane (or in a Japanese subway train for that matter)... and if it doesnt get sold I'd have to take it back home (or throw it away) :-(

ive never seen one of those b4 but i suggest selling it to a speciclis msx buyer or slapping it on ebay

  5. I'd love to take that off of your hands, seeing as my MSX unit (Yamaha CX5M) was designed to be used with a keyboard for music sequencing and will PROBABLY work with it (what's the connector look like?) but I can imagine shipping would be a total whore.

I'm afraid so yeah, the thing weighs loads, I had to carry it around a crowded market all day and I can still feel my arms hurting :smt019

GSL: If you're really interested however, I can take it with me to the United States next summer and ship it from Michigan (would be cool to meet up with you but that is probably hard to arrange)... perhaps a partial trade-in for you Linux kit? ;-)

By the way, I also found some manuals for the unit here: http://members.chello.nl/h.otten/fronthw.htm
One of them was written by some guy with whom I had a bad argument on ebay! small world isnt'it :toimonster:

This won't help too much, but I follow MSX auctions quite regularly over the last year, and have never seen that turn up. The Panasonic keyboard is quite common (about once a month ebay uk), and WITH the machine fetches around £70.

    Sorry, all I got :drinkers:

  10. Well Anti, I'm sorry to say the Linux kit sold on Ebay in my mad-dash to try and score funds for E3. However, if the keyboard
hasn't sold by the time you visit here, maybe we could work a meeting out at some point. :smt040
