I was wondering how many left they could be in existance in full (not counting ps-one's) I have 20 myself and I'm sure many other people have much bigger numbers then that. Okay atleast like 100m were made of PS1's so how many could there be left of that huuuuge number? Discuss, There must be (imo) atleast 40m left. :3 or more? You choose!!!! D:
i would say a hell of a lot are still around, they are cheap and cheerful consoles where you can get the games relatively easy and quite cheap, I have seen a resurgence of people buying them recently, especially for younger children who they dont want to purchase an expensive modern console
Thanks guys, considering maaaaaaaaaany have been binned because of normal people I must say many are RIP. I saved 1 myself from being binned and a guy saved another one and gave me
I have two but i never play. Who wants to play in the original one with texture filtering and fast loading on Playstation 2?.
I love this! :highly_amused: I've still got my original but I had to replace the laser a couple of times, I used to get loads from an aunt that worked in a charity shop which could not sell electrical goods, so she just gave them to me, I ended up giving them to friends and stuff and sold a fir few on eBay, I've no idea how many I actually have owned or passed on :dejection: Likewise with mega drives, I've LOADS of them sitting in my mum and dads attic!
Some PSXs were really sturdy, I recall a picture of one in Iraq that was completely exposed the only parts of the case being the three buttons, and still ran games just fine
I used to have a great deal but every time I'd mod one, test it and ship it off the new owner would use garbage CD-Rs burnt as fast as possible complaining that I shipped out a faulty unit. These days I pass on them but I find them regularly at thrift stores.
I would say most, given that it seems any time a resale shop has a video game system, it's a PSX (sometimes the small redesign, but 80-90% of the time the original). It is probably the most plentiful system available, even though the PS2 outsold it.
