Hey Everyone, When I was smaller, I remember seeing a toy handgun which actually had recoil action for the slide (Like Namco guns), as well as separate sound effects for when you shoot it and when you pull back the slide (reloading sound?). I suppose it used a double A battery. Does anyone know of any toy gun that sounds similar to this? Is there any place to actually buy one? I've actually looked around for it, but the only toy guns I can find are like ray guns and such. Nothing close to what I remember. Any ideas?
Yes, they are sometimes at $2 stores over here, but of course they're bright red and stuff , I know which ones you mean however. I happen to really like guns and I cannot find toy replicas anywhere :<
Airsoft pistols are realistic in terms of sound, but not a toy, per sé. Besides having to use CO2 or green gas, they're fairly realistic. And expensive. Plus in Canada you don't need to have the orange tip- It's a US law. I once bought an airsoft pistol, a Glock. the metal made it sound as close to the real deal as possible (minus the loud shot sound) But a plastic one? Not sure. It's a stupid question but have you tried Googling it?
I had a similar one in the early 90's. It was a camo'ed (right after gulf war) Beretta M9(92). It made noises when you racked the slide and pulled the trigger but I can't remember for sure if the slide recoiled. I want to say it did though. It used 2AA batteries and is likely what you are thinking of.
Ah, this sounds really similar to what I remember. Too bad I don't think they make this anymore. @DefectX11: Yep, I checked but google doesn't turn up anything interesting. I've considered looking at airsoft guns, but I was still on the fence about it. I just wanted something to play around or to have on my desk. Nothing too serious if possible.
A lot of places in Canada actually require clear plastic for airsoft. The orange tip in the US is just for point of sale and for shipping purposes. I have a collection of airsoft guns (some gas, some co2, some electric) and none of orange tips. I didn't paint them - airsoft companies make black tips for them. Also - http://www.amazon.com/Combat-Force-...=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1333427783&sr=1-4 here's a blowback electric toy guy that makes sound effects. Doesn't show a separate sound for racking the slide back but it might.
In Signapore they're banned too. In New Zealand they can not be automatic (which greatly changes the dynamic of the game), and parts of the UK they have to be two tone neon (think supersoaker or Nerf). In Japan, they recently removed the law that outlawed replica guns to have metal bodies. but they have a FPS limit of 350 feet per second. I have a few Airsoft videos on my youtube channel. Waiting on my helmet cam to come in and do game play videos.
Ah, I managed to find a place that sells these but one won't ship outside of Australia, and another is in Singapore and wants to charge like $40 shipping (>_<)! Anyone else have any luck finding something similar? (Outside of airsoft guns which aren't the same of course).
Ah, I missed this. Too bad it looks super cheap. Otherwise, it would seem like a good chance of being the same item i remember.
