I just got animal crossing city folk and only see a way to transfer stuff from the DS version. Does that mean they took out the advertised animal crossing gamecube to wii option? I never bought the DS version because I didn't see any reason to having played the gamecube version all the way through.

I don't remember them having ever advertised that you could transfer gc data to wii.

    It's only ever happend twice.

For the N64 version & you had to send your controller pack to nintendo along with the gamecube memory card.

For the wii version you could link with the ds & bring your character across from the ds version.

But its sooo much easier than that now. Why can't we have an option to upload from the GC memory card? The DS was probably harder to implement than the gamecube would have been (but not really hard in the grand scheme of things). I will need to look for the magazine that had the info on transferring gamecube data, but I am fairly certain I read it long ago.

did you think perhaps the DS version was designed with the Wii version in mind? The DS version was programmed to be later used with the wii?

whereas the gamecube version came out in...2002. a good 4 years before the wii?

well the Wii ver. could read the GC mem card, the Wii does have access to the EXI bus anyway.
