I know this is a really dumb question, but I'll ask aways. How do I transfer downloaded games on the 3DS SD card to another SD Card? I got the Zelda XL today and I transferred my settings from one machine to another, but it didn't transfer the games that where downloaded. I ask this is because the SD card that game with the XL is 4gb and the old card is 2gb, of corse I want to use the bigger card. I read the manual, but I'm totally confused if this is even possible, it tells you how to transfer your photos and music, but not games. Again sorry to ask this dumb question, I just don't want to switch SD cards every time I want to play a game that is on that one card. Not to mention that I'm thinking of selling the old 3DS/ =hugh
If everything I've read on this page http://www.nintendolife.com/forums/help/transferring_over_to_a_new_sd_card_3ds is true, then all you have to do is copy everything from the old SD card to the new one before popping it into your 3DS. Simple as that!
Not EVERYTHING copies over though! I bought an XL and the dude at the shop was nice enough to let me do the SD Card Transfer thats built into the 3DS first. The only games that stay on the card are the old games (Virtual Console, DSiware) the games that you have to transfer using the SD Card Transfer tool in the settings are the ones FOR the 3DS that you may have downloaded (Luigi's Mansion 2, Mario Kart, Apps that display in 3D). AND you have to have a strong internet connection with an SD card in both 3DS'. AND you can't just say, "Oh, well I'll transfer the 3DS games from one SD card to the other" because then you have your old SD Card with everything on it and another one with only the 3DS games and apps. What are you going to do? The answer is JUST MOVE ALL OF THEM USING THE TOOL. It took me ours to get it just right, the problem is, don't let either lose connection to the wifi because if you do, you start all over. Needless to say, it was a long evening.
