Transfer native Nintendo 64 (N64) game saves from emulator to 64Drive (everdrive?)

I have a 64Drive that I've been tinkering with for a couple weeks. I'm trying to copy saves from project64 to the 64drive but the filesize is way off. The only remote thing I've stumbled across that is helpful was this. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?34316-Game-saves-for-Everdrive-64-thread! Although that only discusses .sra saves. What "wonky work" needs done to get .eep saves working or .fla saves? I can upload test saves from the emulator and from the 64drive if it could help. Absolutely ANY input is greatly appreciated.
