Ok, for a while now my beloved 99 Pontiac Montana has been having problems with the transmission. It's been suffering from harsh shifts, shuddering on acceleration and erratic shifting. Anyone familiar with the GM Hydra-Matic 4T65-E will know exactly what I'm talking about. So I decided to take it to a transmission specialist. I was hoping it wouldn't be too bad, like maybe replacing the solenoids. However, after checking it out today he told me he's going to have to rebuild the transmission It's going to cost $1500, and I have no choice but to get it fixed since I need a reliable vehicle to take to college. At least this is the only problem it has, besides that big, ugly, gay dent in my power sliding door :smt022That happened in a stupid fender bender... that was entirely my fault.
- [UPDATE] - Ok, I got my car back today, and it's running better than ever. However, I have to take it back in a few days just for a quick check up to make sure there are no leaks or anything else wrong with it. It cost a little over $1600, but it was worth it. It sure does feel good to have the car back.
