Welcome to the boards! Cool pics

BTW, talking about tons of different stuff in a single topic makes it a bit confusing, you should look though the forums and you'll find topics for almost every topic you commented above ;-)

Hi Bobo, i caught some of your NEOLazer dumps over at U-G. Good work :)

BTW, there is a way to dump those PIC security IC's, for Naomi 1 and 2 definately because i have developed a method to do it. It probably works for Triforce IC's too.

I´d like to see some other pictures too, since I became more intrested in the Triforce lately. I´d especially love to see some pics of it running (how everything is hooked up etc.)!

Here is my custom built tool Bobo, it has been tested and succesfully used to dump Naomi1/2 and Chihiro security IC's. Triforce and Lindberg would probably work too.

Are the Triforce boards easy to run? I know that Mario Kart Arcade ran on it, and I've always been interested in picking up that board, if possible...

    DAMN, you guys rock!

Some questions: It has been said that the triforce has 48MB of internal ram. However, the boards show a stock gc board, with just 24MB (MS3M32B-5 is 3Mx32bit, i.e. 12MB, right?). Where are the other 24MB?

Then, it seems as they generall wrap a (complex) DVD emulation board around a gamecube.

Have cartridges already be dumped and decrypted? If not: Legal stuff aside, couldn't we "just" intercept the data at the DI, then replay? (for example by using a modded gamecube drive with the data burned to DVD, or custom hardware like the gamecube harddisk interface)

For "intercepting" the data, couldn't one just (bios-)mod the cube (with a qoob or viper, for example), then run a gamecube disc ripper? This would circumvent all layers of security. Maybe some special "unlocking" mechanism is present (like in the NPDP-Consoles), so a bios dump of the gamecube part might be required. This would be also possible with a modchip.

Not that I would want to promote anything like this (I know this is a sensitive topic), but if a triforce really has 48MB of ram, one could maybe use a Wii, in some hybrid wii/gc-mode to have memory-mapped access to the second 24MB of ram by abusing the GDDR3-RAM.

Looks like you got tmbinc quite excited ;)

All of those ideas sound interesting (though some implausible). Hopefully those folks with Triforce setups would be willing to look seriously into this. Seems like you'd have tmbinc's guidance at any rate :)

Sorry for being such a noob when it comes to arcade, but: If I would buy a Triforce (I've seen them for sale for quite less money, like $500 or so), would that thing boot, or is there something missing?

If yes, I'm tempted to buy one, and try that "DI dumping" method. (But I'm also a terrible noob when it comes to dealing with japanese auctions. Could anybody please guide me a bit?)

You can use deputy service like http://shoppingmalljapan.com/ or rinkya to bid on yahoo japan auctions and also buy from online store. But for something in 500$ range I think to commision is going to be a little too high.

You should try to find an assembler member from japan to buy it for you. Just make a post in the marcketplace and I'm sure someone will help you for cheap since you have an interesting project.
