Anyone have any experience trying to use triforcetools.py to network load linked pair of outrun2 machines?

I tried using DHCP from host to set IP addresses then push the images to the machines. Both network configs on both machines set to remote, and the DHCP set with mac addresses forced. Tried 10.0.0.1/10.0.0.2 and 192.168.14.1/192.168.14.2 for machines with host on .5 of each respectively. Also tried it with machines on .2 and .3 with gateway (dhcp and load host) on .1. Still get gateway error.

I tried sniffing the network to see exactly what happens when the thing tries to find the gateway. It looks like it tires to open a connection to a real high port number.

I did have some success where 1 node was okay, but the other still bombs out.

I was thinking once the game starts running maybe it jumps the IP address to something else, but that didn't seem to be the case based on the limited sniffing I did.

I tried assigning static addresses in both the media and core sections of the config. The 2nd outrun 2 node has some crazy issue that in the IP address configuration the cursor moves left all the time. Setting the IP address is kind of like a music timing game, and is frustrating as hell. But I spent time and got it done. Not sure what causes this, all other fields in settings act normal.

I plan to go CF card on them both I think, they are type 3 netdimms and there appears to be a normal IDE connector inside the box so hopefully if I test the power connector I can find the +5/GND and feed a CF card adapter from that. I just want to run the game and run it reliably. To verify the connector next time I'm with the machine I'll take 5 or so pins on the 50 pin GD-ROM connector and check for continuity on the respective proper IDE pins.

I had originally planned to mount a beaglebone black in the seat and just have it network load the two machines on startup after DHCP'ing an address.

The GD-ROM drive (which is a swap for a dead one) fails every 4th or so load.
