Alright. My deposit check has cleared and I'm definately going to Japan.

We'll be staying at a YMCA near Tokyo Dome City

I believe their official website is listed here: http://www.ymcajapan.org/ayc/jp/
and their "hotel" website is located here: http://www.ymcajapan.org/ayc/jp/hotel/index.htm

Would anyone here be willing or able to head down there to check out the area. How the place looks, potentially find some photos of a room as well. Namely I'm just looking for information as to how the place looks and what I can expect accomodations wise.

    Thanks in Advance.

Why are you staying at the YMCA? It's in central Japan and you could walk to Akihabara (its a 15 minute walk along the river Kanda) and outside Tokyo Dome. It's near a couple of major roads but nothing too bad.

How long you staying in Japan, if for more then 2 weeks then renting an apartment for a month would work out cheaper.

    1. The guy that is holding the tour has stayed at the same YMCA over 20 times in his trips to Japan. Plus it's comparitavly cheaper than getting a hotel room at the next nearest hotel which is the Tokyo Dome Hotel.

    2. 7 days is how long we are staying.

    3. We're going to japan to do stuff other than stay in a hotel and watch japanese TV and play video games. Hopefully I'll see as little of that hotel room as possible because I'll be out and about throughout the town and the prefectures.

As I said it's next to the Tokyo Dome which is one of the major sports venues in Tokyo with the Giants playing Baseball there. It's also near 2 theme parks. You are in a good location with the Chou line so getting to Shinjuku being quite easy, you are within walking distance to Akihabara, the walk next to Kanda river is quite pleasent.

From Akihabara you can take the Yamanote line to most other places you want to in Tokyo.
