I need some help on getting rid of either one of the Trojan Vundo or Virtumonde virus. I run Symatec virus software but all it does is freeze the virus from spreading. I've done EVERYTHING there site says to remove it but it keeps coming back ! Spybot calls it Virtumonde while symatic calls it Vundo. These two F*ing viruses just will not go. Any advice on how to get rid of them? There constand pop ups and slowing down my PC is really annoying.

Both of the virus's are a low treat so theres no need to worry about it doing much other than displaying pop ups. The next step would be to copy the names in to google and try and find if theres a stand alone program to get rid of them or find to see if anyone else has the same problem that you have because to be honest spy bot will really only tell you the virus's are there and the program doesn't really do a lot about it. I will look into it to see if I can find anything out.

After cleaning with what DeMoN suggested, install:

    - SpywareBlaster: works with Spybot, but this is simply a shield to protect the PC, where Spybot does everything else
    - HijackThis: Make a log of your system and check if there's something weird (check each line in Google, and you can find tons of help).
    - RootkitBuster: Search and deletes rootkits.

Thanks DeMoN X, that worked a treat ! No nasty pop ups or slow surfing for the last hour after running that program.

    Don't use just one protection.

My friends call me neurotic, but i have on my XP partition

    - Avast Antivirus (maybe i'll replace for the AOL Kaspersky one)
    - Comodo Personal Firewall
    - Ad-Aware
    - Spybot
    - SpywareBlaster
    - Windows Defender
    - HijackThis
    - RootkitBuster
    - RootkitRevealer

And probably others i forgot. All of those are free.I check my system with Hijackthis at least a month.
Because of this my XP is totally clean.

No problem, It should hopefully be completely gone now. Was your OS newly installed at the time you got the "virus"?

    I dont understand....
I only use Firefox,Spybot default windows firewall and a custom HOSTS file, I scan with Spybot from time to time and thats it...
I dont even run an antivirus and i never caught a virus/spyware in years

On the other hand, my dad's laptop was crammed with Norton super-duper-zomg-antieverything systemworks and got completly infested with Vundo's and loads of other spyware

I have NOD, which is very good. Have you tried AVG? That also helps.
