Now correct me if I'm wrong, but there were dog sim games out long before Nintendogs. Oh and games where you do tasks and buy furniture.
He he, I happen to own that site, despite not posting on it. I kinda started it up and hired people, then went on to doing technical stuff for it.
Well how long has nintendo dogs been out? Im guessing they would of started work on it before it was out.
Good gorsh, this is an honest "hey, if it's working for them, we oughta use it too!" deal going on here. I've never seen such horrid rip-offery in my life! I mean, that is why Sony borrowed the awesome SFC controller layout for their PSX pad, eh? Better to use something that will work than something that's shite. (Not to say that if Sony doesn't use these ideas, they're doomed... But they do stand to compete with these knockoffs.) Ah well, even Nintendo has copied before... Supposedly, back 25ish years ago, they cloned a popular space shooter whose name I can't remember for the arcade.
Sony also had a Panzer Dragoon rip off as well for the PSX. Didn't have a dragon but played 100% identical. Can't remember what it was called now. I vaguely remember some sort of flying turtle though h: So nothing new really but yeah, I do thinks that the dog sim is pure Nintendogs rip. It seems far too close to not be. Yakumo
Oh noes, Nintendo stole from Sony! All they did was change the cat into a dog! Look; Dokodemo Issyo *gasp!* See how easy that is? It's not very often that a new game is released that truly is unique and new. Whether this game is a rip-off of Nintendogs or not really doesn't matter as the whole thing has already been done before anyways. Sony doesn't have Nintendogs, so they need to create something to compete with it and give their customers a similar experience. It's not like they're going to say "Hey, you want Nintendogs, go buy a DS." No, they're going to say "No, don't buy Nintendogs... we'll give you something like it and it'll be even better." (<- Note added hype) You guys know this is how it works, no sense getting worked up over it. :110:
Come on, didn't the guy who designed the orginal PSX controller either design or borrow the design from the SNES CD thing, I know there was an article on it, hopefully I'm not totally wrong. And yes, these are blatent rip offs but hey it works, why buy a DS when you can get the PSP range of games and all DS rip offs.
Catz and Dogz were out on PC back in 1996 or so. I think they were considered the first "Pet Sim" type game. While its quite clear what Sony is doing, it shouldnt come at a suprise.
He appears to have read the threads title, and based his post soly off that (with a misreading that resulted in try = trying).
cahaz, God you're such a blind fanboy at times. It's like near IGN levels here. Next you're going to post pictures of ByteHell 2000 and call it a wario ware rip off when its a sequal to a game that was on the ps1. 1) The dog game is by another studio (not sony). 2) Pet sims have been around for quite a while. 3) The other game may look like animal crossing but it's not even close (it's rather different and just sucks as a whole). 4) Sure nintendo never copies (pikachu keychain anybody?) 5) Brain Trainer PSP was done by sega ( The games are based on a book I belive which nintendo did not get exclusive rights to). 6) Loco Roco (yellow blob) is actualy pretty new and creative (also done by 3rd party). Not sure what you're getting at. 7) Crash Racing. WTF are you trying to point out? --edit-- vbmenu_register("postmenu_131064", true); ?? Wtf, boards are wacky.
Its his own thread as well... Yeah cant wait to see what nintendo come out with for the revo. . . wait wait its coming to me ... zelda, metroid prime, mario, mario tenis, mario golf, mario goes dancing, mario football, mario fighting game sequel number 203, mario drawing with wavy hand wand.
