Hey guys I've been task with selling an TRS-80 for a family member and I'm trying to find the best place to sell something this old. I want to try and avoid ebay as much as humanly possible as I've been messed about with when selling items on there in the past.

I've had a brief look around the net and found game gavel which seems like a good place to try although I'm not sure if anyone would even look out for something like this on that site and Obviously I can't sell it though here since I'm a relatively new user and have very few posts.

As far as I'm aware I'm the only one with the Trs-80 Model One Monitor and Tape recorder.

Currently this is what I have:
View attachment 6591 View attachment 6588 View attachment 6589 View attachment 6590
    The Gear:

    Model 26-1001 Keyboard
    Model 26-9202 CRT Display Monitor
    CTR-80A MODEL 26-1206 Cassette Tape Recorder/Player
Model 26-1140 (I've been told its been Upgraded to 26-1142?)
TEAC DUAL 5 1/4 inch Floppy Disk Drives
Catalogue No. 26-9100 Power Supply x2

Other items which will be bundled with it:

Getting Started With TRS-80 Basic, George Stewart & Jack Wittry, Radio Shack 1981

Level II Basic Reference Manual, Radio Shack 1979

    Expansion Interface, Radio Shack 1979

32-BASIC Programs for the TRS-80 Tom Rugg & Phil Feldman, Radio Shack/Dilithium Press 1980

Programming Techniques For Level II BASIC, William Barden, jr. Radio Shack 1st Edition 2nd Printing 1981

    TRS-80 INTERFACING Book 1, Jonathan A. Titus, Howard W. Sams & Co., Inc. 1st Edition 3rd Printing 1980

    TRS-80 Assembly-Language Programming , William Barden, Jr, Radio Shack 1st Edition 3rd Printing 1980

TRS-80 Graphics, Don Inman, Radio Shack /Dilithium Press 1979

TRS-80 Advanced Level II BASIC, Don Inman, Ramon Zamora, John Wiley, Bob Albrecht & Sons, Inc. Radio Shack 1981

I've personally tested the Keyboard, Monitor and Expansion Interface and all seems well and working. I haven't been able to test the Disk Drives or Tape Drive yet since the disk's and tape's are still in Storage.

I'm also like some advice packaging this up as I've only got the original box for the Keyboard and the Expansion Interface. The Monitor, Tape Deck and Disk Drive are the main concerns as the Monitor is fragile and the Teac Disk drives weigh a ton.

So guys where is the best place I can sell this?

You could try here when you get 50 posts. There's also a few TRS-80 fans at atariage.com forum but I can't remember what are the requirement to post a sale ad.

The monitor alone would make shipping expensive so your best bet is a local buyer.

AmiBay and Vintage Computer Forum will both let you sell items practically right away.

    Where are you located?

Surprisingly the monitor itself doesn't appear to be that heavy which I find really odd for a CRT, the Disk drives on the other hand are about twice as heavy as the Monitor, so you might be right about shipping it locally. Then again if someone was willing to pay for the shipping I wouldn't mind trying to ship it abroad.

I would prefer to try and sell it here but I don't really have much time nowadays and waiting 2 months is just too long so selling elsewhere seems to be the only option. Cheers for the tip anyway.

I'm located in the south east in the UK. The Vintage Computer Forum does look like an Ideal place to sell this Item, I'll most likely put it on there later on this evening or tomorrow morning.

    Cheers for the help! :very_drunk:
