So I have an HP Touchsmart IQ524 that while works fine for day to day things I also have a tower that is far better in all regards but the problem is I don't have a monitor for it

After asking in the chatbox people said it should be possible to only use the screen if it uses VGA or HDMI(or what have you) but I have no idea what I am doing to I figure why not ask?

I have opened it up and I think Its this thing here but again IDK

and a pic of the mobo

so any ideas? Do I go deeper and remove more? and yes I did take these with a piece of lint but unfortunately that is what Sony thought would be good to use as the Vita's camera's

EDIT: Here is some stuff about restoring one

in those pics i dont see any video in or out on the motherboard. the monitor probably attaches to the motherboard with a non standard interface. i dont know how the monitor is attached in those pics but maybe someone else can see it in the pics.

I get the feeling it ha something to do with it since I opened up a laptop and it also had that and it had very clear wiring the seem to be going into the screen
I have put the computer back together since I can already see this is beyond me but if anyone with some knowledge on this subject would like to help then I don't mind giving it another go

I don't see any video interface in those pictures, just SATA cables and some power cables. What kind of connectors does the computer have on the outside of the case? It probably has some kind of video output, and if so it might be possible to use it as an input instead.

It has no output at all from what I can see, This thing is just a laptop with a massive screen from what I am seeing
It uses mobile parts and connections

I am terrible at describing things so I am sure I am being a bit useless here

Here are the mobo specs. There'a an MXM slot & VGA pins. I don't think either of these will help, but maybe someone else can take this info and run with it.

There don't appear to be any video input slots on this thing. The only other thing i can think of is to go here

and search for "Removable I/O cover". Remove that cover and see what's there...

I guess it interfaces with the LCD directly, like most laptops. If so you could eb lucky enought to find a LCD controller board that's compatible. That's if the connector is standard. Google something like: "laptop lcd controller kit"

That's what I was thinking, and if so it seems like way more effort than it's worth. Monitors aren't too expensive; just get a small, cheap one. Getting this thing to work the way you want it to would be a huge pain in the ass, if you could even find the parts you need to do it. But it's ultimately your choice.
