I'm sure a lot of us have been to this site, it went defunct almost a decade ago. but back then it was such a glorious wealth of information...

a few years back, he started another site. But it's been offline and I can't find an archive of it, while his NES page maintains.

...anyone know what happened to the guy? is he still active...somewhere?

videofenky was his other blogsite that stopped around 2005/2006(?).

Back in 2001 when I was getting into retrogaming beginning with the NES, TSR's NES archive was a watershed of information. It was like an encyclopedia on all things NES. I couldn't believe some of the stuff I read there. I think I felt so taken away by everything there because the NES was my first own true console. (NES toploader given to me personally from parents for Christmas 1995.) While I had gamed on stuff like the SNES, N64 and PS1 up until the turn of the millennium, I felt I was missing on a lot of backstory to a generation of gaming I wasn't around to see develop. Hence, why I got into retrogaming with the NES and why I revere TSR so much.

Even finding his site over a year after he closed it down left me in a sorta "ah nuts, that's too bad" mood. Still, I read diligently, scraping for each new nugget of information I could find.

sums me up pretty well. I'm not of the "NES" generation but it was my first console back in 1990 (i was only 2!) and I hold mine close to my heart. My biggest regret in life is selling my original NES when iw as 10 for more n64 stuff

He gives his name in the "about me" section, which matches the not-so-secret true identity of "tsr".

I was a big fan of his NES site when it was open too; in fact that's what got me back into NES, and into game collecting (as opposed to just playing new stuff as it came out) in general.
