    isn't the HIT-300 the LAN adapter ? The broadband adapter is the HIT-400 both are not the same hardware and the HIT-300 has limited software compatibility as far as I am aware of.

    homebrew development isn't a problem with the LAN adapter, but yes, if I remember correctly, the official games didn't suport the LAN adapter, and it was only 10mbits (100 for the broadband)...
    It's also more difficult to find a LAN adapter, so it's always a nice collector's item too :)
