Am I the only one here that is shocked to see what some of these games are going for? I am sorry, I just had to vent as I couldn't believe the prices that some of these games were being bid up to (mainly by one or two different people).
There's a new generation of gamers who were all born after the Turbo/PC-Engine hardware was new. Their first exposure to these games would likely have been through official emulation (on the Wii and through other download services). Turbo hardware is relatively uncommon when compared to the Nintendo and Sega console availability, so there's a perception that Turbo games are special and uncommon. We know that these games *are* special and uncommon, but they're also not worth a hundred bucks a piece. It s a lot like Neo Geo games, in that everybody who actually wants that gear and that software already owns it or knows where to get it.
You're hosed without contacts or the interwebs on those fronts. Good Turbo and Neo Geo games don't often just lend themselves to be found offline in the wild. Or more accurately, chances are you won't even find out such consoles exist.
