I just blew the diode on my Turbografx CD unit doing a laser power adjustment. Not that it was working properly before being picky which discs it would play and how long it would play them for... Where can I get a new one, or better yet can someone post a list of old walkman units that I can pull one from, usually I can find old walkmans cheap but I don't want to go through 50 of them trying to find a laser. Also my unit has a 162a laser, is the 220a a 100% drop in replacement or do I need to jerry-rig it?

You can buy them new quite easily on ebay

I already checked, there are no lasers of either type, even if there were I don't generally trust "new" lasers. I'd rather pull one from a walkman since I can test the laser first.

The system now works, pulled one out of an old walkman. BTW if anyone cares the KSS-160a works in these things too. The only difference is that the KSS-160a has a nut instead of the spring loaded adjuster screw.
