I have a Turbografx 16 controller in need of repair. As you can see in the photo, the pin connector that goes to the controller port on the console has disconnected. I'm looking for suggestions or perhaps proven fixes for the best way to proceed.

I can solder, though it seems somewhat of a challenge to say the least in this situation. Perhaps I can slide a few lines of solder in the holes on the controller side, insert the connector, and apply heat to the pins? Or lightly tin the pins and then apply heat? There's the issue of the hot glue which holds the holes in place on the controller side to consider : /

Or maybe forget the solder and carefully apply liquid nails around the connector? What do you guys think?

Glue it in with gorilla glue or replace the cable, this is probably the most common problem with the turbografx
The only thing holding the barrel in is a ground strap which tends to break, DO NOT solder the pins in any way just glue it.

Thanks. I'll try the gorilla glue route and go from there. : )

    Used Gorilla Epoxy https://www.gorillatough.com/product/gorilla-epoxy/

Holding together beautifully. Also used a small amount of WD40 to clean and lubricate the pins and connector on the controller and console so the controller is easier to insert and remove. All fixed. Thanks for the recommendation!

Just a word of advice from a guy who grew up with this system, always be careful with the controller connectors, all 5 of mine eventually broke.
