Right I've just bought a huge lot of stuff, thus need a van to move it to my storage place. Err-ing on the safe side I go for a long wheel base Transit not bad 11m squared load space. Jobsa. the Van hire place just phoned back saying I am too young to have it (Im 26) the only option is to for a Peugeot Partner ... 2.2m Cubed. Feck my car has a better load area then that! Now means I need to make 2 poss 3 trips -- about 600 mile round trip... Not a happy chap.
That's is just pants mate! Is this some banal French fecking unwritten law? I've never heard of that before (perhaps because I am in my mid 30's) but that just doesn't sound right. The fuel bill will be terrible! Hey, forget having a decent sized carbon foot print this year ;-) you'll have to buy some space off someone cleaner like ICI lol
Have you tried any other van hire places? Or a smaller van? Also a trailer (not caravan style) might be a possibility?
Too young at the age of 26 ?! Smells like Bull Shit. I'll ask my dad on that one since he was a HGV driver. Yakumo
Chances are when they say too young, they mean their insurance policy doesn't cover you under a certain age with a van of that size. Doesn't mean all places will be like that though.
Been sorted now I went thro an hire agentcy who then verbally bitch-slapped the hire company for talking shit.
That`s correct and some won`t even let you use or take out your own insurance Happens a lot with cars as well  But glad to hear it`s sorted anyway
