This item was purchased from an Acclaim artist after the company went under. I'm told it was rendeded into the game but I couldn't tell you which one. Its been buried under a pile of other junk for years and people have asked for pictures many times so here ya go. You can see the artist signature and date here. Stand weighs 1 lbs 7.7 oz All together both axe and stand weigh 6 lbs 9.5 oz
I bought it from an ex-Acclaim employee and always assumed it was his design. I have forgotten all the details. I have papers somewhere with the details but its been along time so I'd have to reread them. There is a chance it was not his design and he just happened to be an artist at Acclaim and ended up with it. If thats true who knows it could have come from such a place. The signature says "peyton duncan" if that helps. Perhaps the studio would know if a pic was sent to them. I wonder what such an item costs to create. It looks like it some time to construct.
Thanks guys I enjoy this one as well. I had someone who has been asking for pics for a long time under the guise as interested buyer. I doubt they have intention to buy it as they say but it was fun to dig it out and get a look at it again. Sure laugh now while you can, I'll be the one ready when the dinosaurs attack.
wear a freaky suit and go downtown with this in your hands. sure you'll get a lot of candy on halloween
Quite interesting, never knew they made models of weapons during the development process. Thanks for sharing
Very cool item there. This is the type of stuff I love to see around here. I just did a quick google search for "Peyton Duncan" and the first result was a MobyGames page. He was staff for Acclaim on Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (1997) and Turok: Evolution (2002) as well as some other games. I guess it's safe to assume it was made in-house and not by an outside company.
