Nice clean tutorial IMO. Should probably opt to RGB mod it but I know that lots of people don't have access to RGB monitors. :)

I wonder if there has been any comparison of video quality between the Model 1 and Model 2 Master Systems? A bit like how the SNES and SNES Mini (or SNS-101 whatever) display fairly different picture quality. I'm guessing it would be pretty much the same but, would be a fun comparison to make, because then you can play Master System games while doing it :) Great tutorial by the way!

In the 95% sms 1 and 2s I opened I always found the cxa1145p chip so I guess you get the same result from both, I only once compare a sms2 rgb modded by mine with a mega drive and picture was identical.

On a later sms2 I found instead a fujitsu mb3514 chip (the one you can find in several model 2 mega drives) which I think is a clone of cxa1145 but have only took composite from it cos for me was too hard attach 4 wires to 4 microscopic pins in a row to get rgb from it.

I've also experienced jailbars on sms1 with normal rgb cable, identical to the jailbars you see with the mega drive, and deletable after cuttin pin 6 of cxa like with the mega drive.

Not experienced jailbars at all with a sms2 gettin sync from c-sync and not from composite. I have to admit for laziness I never tried to test sync via composite video with the sms2.
