I am so tempted to get the cube version as well as the Wii one as I think it would be good to get both as I feel the cube version "may" become rare and being reversed would always be a laugh throwing people but playing Wii one day one way and Cube the next the other way
Dunno about the us & uk versions but the japanese version has potential to become rare due to the distribution of it, seeing as you can only buy it online direct from nintendo japan's shop. On another note the japanese gc box is really nice its got a metallic foil effect cover.
USA/Canada version (actualy different) don't seem to be rare as once thought. Sure EBGames/Gamespot did not get enough units but this always happen. People should be able to find it. The Canadian version I can 100% say is easly avalible. Sure while I dont think it will become as common as TWW but I dont think it will be imposible to find a few years later. Japanese version on the other hand I think will be extensivly rare. Any import sites that had copies are all sold out.
Tis beautiful, the grey pattern in the background is actually silver but i couldnt capture it with my cam & the bottom left portion is gold/bronze, it looks really nice when angled to the light.
Eh, I picked up my GCN copy yesterday. Going to play it later today and see how much different it feels.
Pretty. What is the game to the left of kirby's air ride and also what is the game to the far left with a cat on the box? It's somehing II.
The one to the left of kirby's air ride is Mutsu to no hohon. Its a game based off tomy's water toys known as water looper in the west. http://japanimation.com/j-store/shop.cgi?link=&page=/jstore/mutsu.html&cart_id= The other box with a cat on is shikigami no shiro II its a limited edition with the cat figure bundled in with it.
Ok, played it side by side with the Wii version (Had the GCN on one channel, then changed it over to the same spot in the game on the Wii). Note that I played the GCN version on the Gamecube and the Wii on the Wii version (Obviously, and they both used Composite cables) Few things: -The gamecube version seems to be washed out a little. When I switched from the GCN to the Wii version, the Wii version seemed much brighter and cleaner. Also, there was some slowdown in a few areas in the GCN version. There also seems to be a blur filter for things a certain distance away, as well. -The controls are mixed bag. The good? Combat isn't as annoying, same with aiming. The bad? They mapped some of the buttons very stupidly. Items are on the upper D-Pad button instead of being on start (Where the inventory screen is), and Midna's help is mapped to the Z button: meaning you can only carry two items in reserve when compared to the Wii's 4 slots. Also, fishing is done on the C-Stick: Far lamer then the Wii's fishing controls and even the N64 Fishing game. Not too sure which one is the better version yet (Personally, I want to see if the Goron Mines look the same as they did on the Wii). EDIT: Few other things as well: -Something I didn't notice earlier: The camera system is different. Normally, the camera in the Wii version changes depending on where link is, but the GCN version keeps it closer to him. Also, there is also a weird glitch: Try climbing on something in the GCN and use the C-Stick to move the camera. It distorts the objects around link, for some reason. -Also, first person aiming is back when compared to TP's 3rd Person aiming (ALA: Resident Evil 4). Personally, I like the TP version better, since you see where you target.
the camera on the GC version does not distort things. its the FOV setting. Field of View changes depending on the focal point of the camera.this is in line with real-world visual science, and it is a welcomed feature.TOO bad the wii doesnt have it, i m dissapointed. It would be abnormal to keep the 25 degree variable for close and far distances. It might seem abnormal to most though because games don't use it usually (e.g mario 64 just pans out, under the same degree of FOV)
Just finished it. Got to say, I found it a tad easy. Despite heart pieces being 5 for a new heart, I actually seemed to find them all much easier. Took me longer to complete than Wind Waker though, but still felt shorter than OoT. Still can't knock LttP off the top spot though.
The Wii version was about par for a Zelda game in terms of length. Ocarina took me awhile because it was my first game (About a year of owning it), yet Majora only took me a week. Wind Waker took me about 2 weeks because it was in Japanese and there was no guides on where to go. Twilight Princess took me about a week with 5 hours of play each day and some questing in between. Granted, it may be because we are used to it (That, or the final bosses was fairly easy).
I'm still on it after 21 hours of play. Just had to go to the castle to get something to help the sick guy in the rock town (I'm playing the Japanese version). Yakumo
The Gamecube IS a pretty old system though. Leave it to VGcats to make a comic stating the blatantly obvious about what happens to consoles in their end times.
