Type of transistor for XBOX 360 mic trim LED mod?

So I'm wanting to make my own mod for the mic trim, someone on eBay sells them pre done but I really want to do this myself.

The guide only mentions what resistor is used, but not the transistor. Not sure if the picture will help but I'll post it anyway. All I know is the type is printed on the other side which or not shown in each photo... Is there a similar guide out there as well which mentions an LED mic trim mod? I couldn't find one sadly

3904 is a NPN general purpose amp
