Apperently Best Buy, Target, and Circuit City are stocking Wii consoles to be sold this Sunday (and which will be in their Sunday newspaper ads). Best Buy stores are said to be getting 20 per store minimum with higher sales stores getting 35 - 40. Target will be getting 10 per store, and i'm not sure about Circuit City. I myself plan to get to Best Buy early Sunday to finally get my Wii!
Bah....I spent the better part of 2 months on hunting for the Wii. I settled with a 360(which i wanted from the beginning) and am extremly happy with it. Its fine and dandy to get one now, but i'd rather wait until there is a better established library of games before taking the plunge You should see how hard it is to get one here in Canada 0_o Ryan
You know its funny, I got mine wii the day after christmass but still havent gotten any games for it due getting gow a few days before and recently lost planet. Well any other members still looking I wish the best of luck.
We've had them in stock for a few days now. Other stores are still sold out / filling back orders. I guess it all depends on how lucky you get!
Nintendo World in NYC were selling them on Thurs lunchtime, Toysrus in Times Square had them at 5:00 on Wednesday (I got the last one on Wed from Toysrus). They're definitely around and you don't have a long queue (assuming they're in stock).
The Wal-Mart I work at hasn't had any in for a while now...along with several accessories, including controllers.
I was shopping most of Sunday with my gf and didn't see a single Wii at any stores (Best Buy, Gaymestop, EB, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, etc) Not that I'm looking for one anymore...this whole limited supply of the recent consoles has really turned me off. Console makers need to really start working on alleviating their supply issues at launch, as this whole hunting around thing is getting old fast. I'm quite happy with my 360, but I wouldn't have minded a Wii as a silly diversion console for my collection. As it stands now, I'll just stick with the 360.
got my Wii this Sunday at Best Buy. SuperGrafx: You wouldn't have seen them just lying about, there was a line outside my Best Buy prior to opening. Worked out perfect too, 48 people in line, and they had 50 Wii's. The 2 'extra' went withing about 5 minutes of the store opening.
I was going to go, but when I heard that people were waiting in line (12+ hours out) I said screw it.
That's what I was hearing as well. Though I thought all these stores would have stockpiled enough to leave a decent supply on hand for those of us who are done with the whole lining up thing. I lined up for the 360 last year with all the freaks and nerds, and I swore that I'd never do it again.
