    Hi Everyone,

So I have a lot of files I want to organize into diffrent folders. However, these files are large (> 1G) so currently I'm stuck doing "Cut --> Paste" and waiting for the copy to occur (VIA USB), then doing the next file, etc. This isn't so ideal for me since I need to be around to make this happen.

Is there any kind of file re-arranging software avaliable where you can order / move the files into folders in any way you like, then just push something like "Commit" to have the changes/copying done in batch?

So your looking for a tool that you can take a list of items in a directory, tell teh tool where to put said items and then upon clicking commit it puts said items in said directories?

Is this a one time only thing or are you copying the same file(s) to this other location(s) when ever they are updated?

Ah, well the original idea is that I have several archive containers (Mounts) which only hold around 7gb worth of data each. I'd like to re-arrange the contents of those items inside the mounts so they are organized in each mount by some criteria. So rather than cut/pasting files all over each mount to get the data sorted, I'd like to do the work logically then have some software actually do it for me in an automated fashion.

Hrm... Does that application work in Gnome at all? I was looking through the feature list and I don't see anything regarding batch/queuing jobs. Perhaps the feature listed as synchronisation does what I'm after?

A while ago I was looking for a similar sort of tool (but for windows). What I'm looking to do is not only set targets like the OP does, but also the order in which transactions can take place.

I have two large data sets on separate hard drives and I want to switch their locations, but there is very little free space on each. What I want to do is not have to cut+paste small chunks over and over but instead have whatever utility determine the free space and ... figure it out.

    Any advice?
