    Regarding inefficient code:
    As a side effect, people with old machines also benefit to a degree.

    I don't think it's only about fan noise, even with more recent computers, but hey, Macbook people definitely care about their self image :p

    Flash is crap. If you don't have a computer capable of playing YT videos without issues, then you need a new PC.

    (Or possibly just a different operating system. The same browser, on my top-of-the-line work PC with Win7 on it, feels about as snappy as on my 5yo ultraportable at home, with Linux. All the while supporting all of the video formats on YT on Linux, but only two (or maybe three?) on Windows, which doesn't help either.)
