Allegedly, a few Asda and Morrisons stores in the UK have been said to have sold copies of Grand Theft Auto 4 on Friday. http://www.msxbox-world.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10535&view=getnewpost Does anyone know what the code on the receipt is? If that's the game number, I guess I could look it up on one of the copies we already have at work, to see if it matches. It is annoying when this happens. All stores have to sign a street date agreement. They are in breach of that.
It isn't every store - we tried our local one. And besides, I wouldn't risk it. They say that if you enter the 100% competition and start before midnight, they'll ban your Xbox live account. Technically they could do that anyway, although they probably wouldn't. Although, they might assume you're running a pirate copy.....
the contract doesnt extend to the consumer. They can't block u legally from playing a legal copy of the game if you ve purchased it. Privity of contract etc
My pre-order best come on Tuesday....it was bad enough hearing about all my pirate friends playing GTA4 early (btw does anyone know some sort of voodoo magic to speed up the RRoD process to make them pay for pirating GTA?).
I need a PS3 or a 360 pronto, i REALLY want to play GTAIV. But seeing game and console prices here, it may take a while to get one. Luckily my store will get like 10 of the special edition copies of the game, so maybe (just maybe) i'll get the game before i buy the console.
