Hey all, I'm new, and I wasn't sure where to post this, but this looks appropriate. Otherwise mods please move to wherever you think best I live in the UK and I am trying to get a my PAL Nintendo 64 to play US games on my TV. The problem seems to be with the NTSC signal. My PAL games work fine with AV/composite - all colours and sound, and the image is acceptable. However US games have problems. I can switch between NTSC 3.58, NTSC 4.43, PAL and SECAM via options, but I get the following results: PAL - Colour, but image is badly distorted, parts of the top of the image appear at the bottom of the screen, badly garbled. SECAM - absolute mess. No-go (not surprisingly) NTSC 3.58 - Black and white, heavily snowy image, but the image is there. NTSC 4.43 - steady image with colour, but everything is heavily overwashed with yellow. This is what it looks like: The annoying thing is, my TV (a Toshiba 32C3035DB), should be able to handle this no problem, given that there are options to receive those signals in the menus, and it claims it is a 50/60hz switchable TV. In NTSC 3.58, the black and white image, the framerate is 60Hz! I have tried, in options, to correct the colour balance to remove the yellow in NTSC 4.43, but all it does is drain yellow from all the other colours on the screen. The predominant yellow colour remains, almost as if it's the default colour. Any idea what the problem is? One interesting thing is, by forcing it via Everdrive to run M-Pal(PAL60), then rotating through all the TV signal modes and ending on PAL, the colours look normal, although there is an occasional flicker of a fraction of a second where the yellow-flood returns. I have tried using a new AV cable which made no difference. I'm trying S-Video next, to see if that changes anything. I have no idea how to do RGB mods (I haven't any confidence in that sort of thing), plus being in the UK I don't think the N64 is RGB-moddable anyway. Besides, it doesn't address the root problem. I want to get a US Turbografx someday, and a US NES, and I am worried I'll see the same problems. Any advice from the talented people here? Thanks very much
