I need to be able to read QR, but shit american phones barely have 2 megapixel, and no macro mode. Even KDDI America doesn't have a phone. Any phone suggestions?
Scan and post the codes here then one of us in Japan can read it and mail you back the URL contained inside it.
Any Windows Mobile phone (all the recent HTC phones have had 3MP), the iPhone, most of the Nokia smartphones... There are a lot of American phones that will do what you want. -hl718
Iphone has a lot of trouble and supposedly nokias can. I hope they ease up on the cell phone laws for non nationals...
My ancient Samsung E700 could read them and that had a 640x480 camera, so it should just be a case of finding the software for your phone.
not sure what you want to know is stil available but the address is - http://adachimitsuru.jp There's a few pictures to download and some other stuff. EDIT: Looks like you can't access that site with a PC or at least not with Firefox. Try using that URL in your phone.
scanned it with my Nokia N95 and followed the link...says its forbidden. Perhaps because I'm not in Japan. Edit: Seeing as yakumo could access it and I can't on my PC here in the UK, I assume you'd have to use a phone in Japan to do it.
I would back up the site then put it on to my server but I don't have a good net plan for my phone, just free calls and mails. So doing that would cost me about 50USD!! No joking, it's true!
note sure about phone but QR reader are on the net, http://www.drhu.org/QRCode/QRDecoder.php i got this = http://adachimits]ru.jp
Try QR2DBarCode: http://www.getjar.com/products/5265/J2MEQRCode Just tried it on my Sony Ericsson W508 and it worked perfectly. The W508 has a 3MP camera, but this Java app is supposed to work in almost every phone with a VGA camera (in a matter of fact I scanned the code in that picture you posted using the camera in VGA quality).
The Sharp 902 and 903 (UK, Europe, Aus, Japan release) has a built in QR code reader - not many other phones have one natively built in. Check compatibility with reader.kaywa.com/ for your mobile phone (they have an extensive list).
