Is there a Street Fighter game where you can play any character from every Street Fighter game ever made?

Damn! :angry I think that's what Capcom's next installment in the series should be. Also, they need to make a Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat.

Threes the 15th Anniversary Street Fighter Special in Japan that features all games or maybe a mix of characters. I have never really paid much attention to it. Then there's Capcom's Fighting Jam which features characters from all Capcom fighting games, sort of like SNK's King Of Fighters series.

  5. Street Fighter Anniversary Collection is a fairly close shot to what you want, AW - it allows you to play nearly every version of the characters from the various games, but I believe it is without the Street Fighter Alpha or Street Fighter III characters.

Capcom Fighting Evolution/Jam, as Yakumo mentioned, lets you play as various characters from Capcom's 2d series - five each from Street Fighter II, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter III, Darkstalkers, and Red Earth, plus a handful of bosses or hidden characters. However, the character selections seem to be a bit odd - Morrigan is conspicuously absent from the Darkstalkers lineup (they put someone stupid like Donovan in) and all the Red Earth characters seem ridiculously weak. Nevertheless, it's still a rather good collection game.

I guess is they ever make Capcom Fighting Jam 2, that would include them all...

but personaly,I think if you just put them all together, you loose the ballence that makes SF II and III so good to play.

on a side note, any SF fans here read the comicbook series?

   )

There is indeed Hyper Street Fighter 2: Anniversary Edition but it includes only the SF2 characters.
I think your best bet would be Street Fighter Alpha 3 / Zero 3 (get the Saturn version while at it :smt033 ), it has 31 playable characters.

mmmmm....mugen, interesting idea, but wouldnt the total rosta of characters hit the 40-50 mark??

Has Mugen got a sprite limit/memory limit it can work in!?!?

anyone point me in the direction of useful/working mugen links??

On a serious note, if you are for some reason unable to afford the Saturn version (and I couldn't imagine why :smt083 ), then get the Dreamcast version over the PSX. While a marvel of Capcom's programming prowess, the PSX version definately had a lot taken out of it in the way of frames and smoothness.

I've got a US DC Street Fighter Alpha 3 that I wouldn't mind getting rid of - it's scratched pretty badly, and I was unable to return it to the miserable gamestore I bought it from. :angry [/quote]

it won't be easy to get one at low price though I had to pay 3000 yen for my box set inc. RAM cart.
I imagine it would be much higher on eBay though...

    cheers

I've heard mixed reviews on both Street Fighter Anniversary Collection and Capcom Fighting Jam, but I guess I will try them both. After all, almost no one liked SVC Chaos, and I love the game :-D Thanks for the info guys :smt023

the box was bit tattered due to shelf wear but game itself is clean and RMA cart is mint as well... yep. I do know it goes bit more on Yahoo Japan but even on YJ sometimes you can pick up bargain - like I picked up mint complete PC Engine Kazekiri for 4000 yen which I believe was very good deal considering its usual price. Before that I picked up two new DC DreamEye box sets for 500 yen each (made nice profit on those two he he)... though never seen it that low again...

    cheers

p.s. this reminds me the PC Engine Duo box set that I got off eBay last year.
The seller was selling three boxed PCE Duo and I somehow managed to pick one up for $49 - yep! $49 where as the other guy bought the remaining two for $89 and $105 respectively. It's long story how I ended up getting one for such a low price but that PCE Duo was the one I sold through this forum late last year. :D So you can pick up a bargain with little bit of patience and little bit of luck and whole load of cash - wait forget the last bit just luck and patience will get you what you want at the price you want... he he

  20. AW - basically, the negative reviews I've heard of Evolution and Anniversary Collection all came from those 'new-school' gamers who were upset that the games were still in 2d and using old sprites or crap like that. If you're a fan of the originals, you'll definately love these. :smt023
