  2. Not certain, but I thought it was a pirate Gameboy. There are some members here who I recall knew abit about it, but I can't remember who. Maybe Johnny, Yceman, and the rest of our Brazilian contingent know?

the mega duck was a game boy competitor that was SUPOSED to rivalise the nintendo machine . at the end , it didn't beat the game gear at all.

It's a system like the gameboy. I think the mega duck was mostly sold here in Holland. About 30 games were available. It was also released in Spain as the 'Cougar boy'. There were some decent games for it actually, but not many.

Oh and whats more..I owned one :smt033

It's a cheap gameboy clone sold in europe and in south america under the name cougar boy, i actually have aunit here but the screen is pretty fucked up.
The games were verry basic and pretty boring.

A nice thing if your into clone consoles

Yeah, it's basically a reverse-engineered GB with a few things changed around to get around copyrights. Has pretty much the same specs (although I've noticed the games seem to not be able to play more than one sound at the same time, don't know if that's hardware or what.)

The screen is slightly crappier, less blurry but more pixel loss, lines, choppiness, etc. It's a little bit thicker than a normal GB, and the carts have the pins exposed, so you have to keep them in a dry, cool place or they'll eventually rust.

The games however aren't that bad- nothing to write home about. Most of them are clones of various early GB games, tetris, bomberman, space invaders, etc. The one game I actually played for more than ten minutes was Street rider, which was kind of like Pac-Man mixed with Bump n' Jump, sort of . Just got five games from Antipasta and still haven't tried them all out yet.

Sold in Europe (Especially France) as Mega Duck, in Brazil as Cougar Boy. The Brazillian version is more rare, but honestly these things aren't worth anything except to psyco people like us who have to have one of everything.

My Megaduck page (which is in bad need of updating:)
