Apperently some russian hackers found a way to remove the censoring in the PSP version of Manhunt 2. It's like they're begging the anti-gaming politics and soccer moms to come after them. Thought on the other hand, history has teached us that violence is ok and sex is bad.. so maybe this one wont grow as big as the "hot coffee" thing?
I don't really care at all about Manhunt. I've never had the desire to play it, and it looks pretty graphic as it is. However, I kind of see it as "un-Constitutional," if you will, to ban violence from a videogame. I suppose if a group of people pisses and moans enough then someone has to cave to the pressure of bored at-home moms and presidential candidates (hey Hillary).
....and Jack Thompson....it does seem unconstitutional...why don't you just do your job as parents????....instead of finding an easy scapegoat for humanities problems
I found the code workaround online. It's an unbelievably simple operation. I don't have a PSP to test it on however. I also don't condone piracy for the sake of saving money. Well, if anyone would like to try it on their PSP...
So, this means that Rockstar didn't take the initiative of redoing the textures and scenarios in order for it to be uncensored, but instead they just put in a filter. It's like the Hot-Coffee mod all over again.
Groovy in for pound, in for a kilo . He he, sorry lol I laugh. This is just fun as it use to be in these cases
Is it even that graphic? It seems like the power of the systems it's out on couldn't allow such violence as in Gears of War or anything. Also, why didn't that game get any flak?
I think mostly over the wii version is why this game is getting so much trouble. It does not seem that much over the top compaired to the first game. I just think the wii version with jestures plus the UK banning it put presure on ESRB to also AO the original version. ESRB end up aproving the edited version before the UK rejected the second version. I bet if the UK rejected the second version ESRB most likely would have stuck with the AO rating. I think soon someone will modify the cheat device app for PSP so you wont need to do this. That or make a small app to tap into the cd reads so it redirects the files to memory stick.
I guess I can see how it can be violent using Wii gestures, but I dunno, I think theres a lot more violent games that seem to get no press coverage.
That's for sure. Has anyone played The Godfather for the Xbox? Most of the early part of the game involves beating innocent shop owners to within an inch of their life so they will pay for protection from your family. I'm pretty sure I killed a number of them by accident. At least in Manhunt you're killing people that are "bad guys".
Exactly! I mean, Gears is getting ready to come out again on PC, and I still think that's one of the most graphic games I've played. Yeah, it's still not totally real, but it's pretty nasty. Organs hang out of dead enemies, people get chainsawed, limbs with bones sticking out of them, heads rolling, etc. Unless I missed it, I haven't heard any fuss over it, and it was a big seller.
Yeah, i also played the leak and i think that the first one was better, but the feeling of playing it "on the go" with the PSP makes it a lot better
Hmm...I wonder if theres a simply action replay/ gameshark code around all this...Maybe "Disable Video Static" Codejunkies link Btw on a unrelated note, I wonder when a Action Replay will get released for Wii
I've played a bit of the PSP version so far. The game actualy looks pretty good for a psp game and has a decent framerate (i think 30fps, tho i did not play far to see if it gets buggy later on). It's not a fantastic game but it's not a shit game. It feels like a good game to play around halloween every year more then anything else. The atmosphear is quite nice and it's quite creepy. It's esentualy like most horror films. They're not oscar winning performances but they're still enjoyable to watch around halloween.
