I just saw the newsbit at GamesAreFun (http://www.gamesarefun.com/news.php?newsid=5869 - this URL), and I'm absolutely ecstatic about it. They're saying it's due 2006. This is some good news, for sure.
Cmon it is confirmed! I'm too excited to accept otherwise! So what do we know - it is 3d, err and that is about it. So what do people think - what do you want to see in this sequel of sorts? Personally, I think an identical battle system in 3d would be great. If you have control of movement in 3d in battles I don't think they could implement the combo system. I do hope we see more platform elements, again in 3d. Bascially I just want the same game in non-botched 3D. Oh and lots of people from VP in it. seeing as they have the same char designer on board, lets hope motoi hops on the music front as well. Oh this is just great news. Now for the rpg fans all we need is that Chrono ? game we were promised over 1000 years ago...
Am i the only person who thinks valkyrie profile has the woset voice acting in history? A sequel might be cool tho.
I liked the american voice acting in VP, actually. It's not bad at all. At least it's not Grandia. So is VP2 going to be 3D? ew... I was hoping for impressive 2D like the original...
Check out the scan of the famitsu article - looks 3d to me. No bad thing (although I would prefer 2D) I'm sure the platform sections of the original could be very interesting in 3D. We will just have to see if they can pull it off.
Well indeed! But it works the other way as well. Makes you think how good games are when you play them how they were meant to be - learn Japanese y'all! Cos if you love VP in english (but hate the acting) you will love the original. But on the other hand, I heard somebody complaining that DOA has japanese voices with subs. Oh well, I do think that the majority of western gamers would prefer localised voices.
I hope this gets a US release and doesnt become rare on impact! :icon_bigg   Nice Find!
I'm almost crying! VP was one of the games i loved the most in my life! the scene in wich lenneth regains his past memories are the best and more exciting i've ever seen in a game.
Oh (pick a random god), please let that be true. A flat out port of VP to the PSP would be the best thing since sliced bread (atleast to me). I have no problem throwing $50 cash at square for a straight port.
Oh, I remember why i think the voice acting is crap, it's done by the people who do Pokemon. If you watch the opening cut scene, the guy is brock. I think the chick is jessie, but i'm not sure, could have been misty... I'll have to go dig up my copy. Either way, great game, awefull voice acting.
And here comes the confirmation http://eg.nttpub.co.jp/news/20051209_05.html Yay. Looks like this is the start of an awsome week. Friday - VP anounced for PSP Saturday - 360 launch in japan Sunday - Family Guy / American Dad Monday - my 360 shipps (2-4 day shipping. YAY).
How long does this game take? I've been meaning to play it for a while... maybe this will get me going.
Looks like Lenneth is the port of the original. But as a straight port we don't know yet. They could change some stuff, or even add some stuff. Gaijinpunch - you can get a straight run of this game in min 20/25 hours. Getting the good ending if you use a guide, on your first time through. BTW there is really no way of getting stuck in this game, it is rather easy and you cannot get lost. It really is a great game - characters, battles system, music, it is all first rate.
Lenneth is a direct port of the original, with the exception of it being modified to include widescreen support and has additional videos. Also, the full scan (then again its missing the Lenneth logo, so ill see if I can find one with that as well):
