I tried to Google but found nothing. I got it "as is" and without the disc inside the box.

Does anybody have any information about it?

Well it's not like any U.S. style long box I've seen.

The U.S. cardboard boxes emulate that design,if you look at the hinge area, they have a graphic resembling the hard plastic spine of the above case.

There's a few (very few) plastic cases like this (Resident evil comes to mind) before they went the way of the clear cover/ black back cover (like the Sega Saturn). They initially wanted
the game cases to be nothing like Sega's.

    The cardboard version : http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAwMFg3NTA=/z/qGgAAOSwxCxT-2CP/$_57.JPG

I would suspect that the box you have was either some display or a physical item for style guidance.
If it was for a game it would have a SLUS code on it somewhere.

Interesting, I'd imagine it was from a Sony press kit or something seeing as it seems to be a general "Sony Playstation" item and not identifiable as anything specific.
