I've messed around with a bunch of stuff on the XDK, but haven't yet messed around with this. Some of the recovery discs allow the Xbox emulator on the XDK to work just like the retail versions. Most recovery discs that I've used don't allow the Xbox emulator to actually boot an Xbox disc. Since I've seen folks talking about this, I figure it's already been done so in the interest of saving time: 1) What do you have to do to get the Xbox emulator on the XDK to play retail Xbox games? 2) What do you have to do to get the Xbox emulator on the XDK to play debug Xbox games? 3) What do you have to do to get the Xbox emulator on the XDK to attempt to run any XBE you throw at it? (ie games not on the official BC list, be they unsupported retail titles or interesting debug discs) Right now my XDK can't even run Xbox Originals from Partner.net. Oops. -hl718
You want your XeXDK to play debug or retail games? Use Xbdm Ini Recovery, launch it, create a new ini, itll reboot(but freeze), so manually reboot, run it again, this time select Copy MobileJ Settings, itll reboot(but freeze), so manually reboot. Now you should have a Y:\\ drive. That is your compatibility folder. Get the hacked compatibility for devkits from "somewhere" and place it in there and your good to go.
For the most the xbox 1 compatibility needs to be added manually.I remember using a old method to open up the hidden volumes in 360 neighborhood using the 3424 recovery disc but it doesnt work on newer kernels.
I formatted my new hdd with some recovery (I believe it was 6995.1) and I did the whole xbdm recovery ini and it never added any dashboard partition to my hdd. I had to manually add the partition using the following method After that I was able to find my Y:dashboard volume on neighborhood and backwards compatibility worked perfectly
Hey, is it possible to start EvoX and XBMC with this method? If yes, how?! Only some Emulators are running with this hacked Compatibility Update at the moment. Greets
I've tried these steps (at least what I think are these steps) a few times and I'm not getting anywhere. Any chance of getting a more step-by-step approach? Changing xbdm.ini on the recovery disc doesn't do squat. -hl718
Do what I said about manually adding your partition 2, thats the only way you can add it. It worked great for me and a friend
Can that be done without cracking open the HDD case? Ideally I'd like to make the change without breaking any seals. Hence the original method described by Xenon and Dark Seraph is most appealing, if possible. -hl718
You can get one of the transfer cables that come with 120GB hard drives on ebay. They're usually cheap, and will allow your hard drive to be seen through xplorer360.
Also the Xport360 will alow memory cards aswell. You have to look around because the stores where I am dont sell it anymore
I believe you have to actually connect the hdd to a sata port to get this to work. I tried every single other method to add it and none of them worked except this one. I tried with USB, but the hex editor wouldn't let me open the hdd, it did when I connected it to a sata port
In that case I'll see if Xenon 7 or Dark Seraph makes a repeat showing in the thread. For various reasons I can't really crack the seal on the hard drive for this unit. If one of them (or anyone else who knows) could clarify the steps needed to make this work with a recovery disc (or edited recovery disc) that would be awesome. -hl718
Are you implying you didn't actually use the XbdmIniRecovery.xex with the steps I used? Because I would try that, I don't think editting the xbdm.ini on the recovery would do much. Otherwise try leo's alternative. If you didn't use the XbdmIniRecovery you can IM me on AIM at: xl DeToX lx Whenever I'm available, you can message me and just tell me who you are and I'll help you out with those steps I gave.
if you have the latest Recovery Try that one. it seems to Format with hard drive with different partitions. Might fix your issue.
